Question #6: Can you tell us more about Active Catalog ManagementTM?

Answer: Many of our publishing customers are too busy spending their limited time managing the development (production) phase, for several new titles each year. Deploying content to the operators is a time-consuming process that requires regular administration, creating part numbers, grandfathering of devices, and adding new devices as they become commercially available. Active Catalog Management is Axiom xCell’s forward-thinking solution that enables publishers to maximize the revenue earned per title, while reducing the administrative costs of managing the content deployment process. Once a new title has reached the reference build milestone, the publisher transmits the two or three reference builds to Axiom xCell who then handles all deployment activities. Active Catalog Management covers the nearly entire deployment phase including test submission and fees, and pushing the content to the operators. Most publishers choose to set the price plan, but apart from that, all deployment tasks are managed and executed by Axiom xCell. Customers find they can reduce internal costs and resource demands by partnering with Axiom xCell for management of their catalogs.

Question #7: How does your quote process work?

Answer: Once we have the opportunity to review the application source code and the product specification and match those requirements to the targeted mobile devices (handsets), we submit a written proposal for the customer to review. Once approved by the customer, Axiom xCell’s team of software engineers and testers can begin work on the customer authorized project.

Question #8: Does Axiom xCell develop applications?

Answer: Being careful not to create a conflict of interest, Axiom xCell does provide application development services to its clients. Having worked closely with developers, publishers and service providers, Axiom xCell has built or assisted in the building of compelling applications based upon customer specifications. Our team of software programmers, both in San Diego and Sao Paulo are available to assist developers, publishers and content aggregators with specific development work.

Question #9: Is Axiom xCell a game developer?

Answer: No, Axiom xCell does not develop games nor does the company produce any of its own mobile content. Axiom xCell’s service offerings are geared to support developer’s post-production needs for porting, testing, consulting, and catalog management services.

Question #10: How many handsets does Axiom xCell have?

Answer: With over five hundred handsets, Axiom xCell has nearly every BREW handset for all carriers in the US and Brazil. We also cover nearly all of the handsets required to support Sprint and Cingular/AT&T.

Question #11: Can Axiom xCell assist us in getting an application to the carriers?

Answer: Yes, with our extensive industry network and our extensive experience assisting developers to bring mobile content to the market, Axiom xCell offers consulting to assist companies in the planning and deployment issues associated with rolling out mobile content.

Question #12: My Company’s core competency is publishing mobile content, not on deployment of the content; what can Axiom xCell do to assist us?

Answer: Many of our customers have been forced to build up large in-house teams to complete the deployment activities associated with delivering high quality content to the mobile market. Publishing is a seasonal and cyclical activity making it difficult for developer/publishers to fully utilize their in-house porting and QA staff resources. Many developer/publishers turn to Axiom xCell to provide lower cost outsourced porting and testing services. Outsourcing porting and testing work to Axiom xCell reduces developer/publisher costs (both overhead and direct) while enabling the developer/publisher to focus on their core competencies.

Question #13: How can we get started working with Axiom xCell?

Answer: After an initial get-acquainted meeting, Axiom xCell typically enters into an agreement with a customer. In the case where a developer, publisher or aggregator does not have a standard services agreement, Axiom xCell uses its own standard Master Services Agreement (MSA) that establishes a work for hire arrangement. There are no long-term commitments or monthly retainers required. Rather, Axiom xCell prefers to work for customers on a project-by-project basis. No direct costs are associated with entering into the MSA; once a statement of work is approved, Axiom xCell will then assign resources and begin work on the project.
